RSGB Trophies Awarded to HamSCI Members

The Radio Society of Great Britain*, at its April, 2025 Annual General Meeting, continued its tradition of announcing the previous years' winners of the RSGB Trophies.

Two well known members of HamSCI were awarded trophies for 2024:

Dr Nathaniel Frissell, W2NAF:  Les Barclay Memorial Award - To recognize those who have made excellent contributions to propagation research and understanding, ranging from conducting original research, through to spreading knowledge about propagation and inspiring interest among amateurs, particularly citizen scientists.

Gwyn Griffiths, G3ZIL:  Wortley-Talbot Trophy - Awarded for the most outstanding experimental work in amateur radio such as the series of articles Gwyn authored that were published in the RSGB’s RadCom magazine during 2024.  In particular, he was recognized for “Height of Reflections at HF”, published in August 2024 issue.

Congratulations to Nathaniel and Gwyn for earning this much deserved recognition by their peers!

Gwyn Griffiths, G3ZIL and Glenn Elmore, N6GN:  Bennett Prize - For any significant contribution or innovation which furthers the art of radio communication

2021
Chris Deacon, G4IFX:  Les Barclay Memorial Award

2020

2017

Chris Deacon, G4IFX: 1962 Committee Cup - Awarded for outstanding amateur development at VHF/UHF
